Hats & Mittens is in its 26th year of raising money and awareness for organizations serving children and youth in our community. Over the past twenty-five years, Hats & Mittens has not only supported other non-profits serving children in the community but has continually increased the number of warm hats and mittens donated to children and youth in our community.
Since the COVID-19/Delta pandemic, the world has been turned upside down! Our annual December in-person gala is on hold until a time when we can all gather safely. We are pivoting to a virtual fundraiser event, which will take place Thursday, December 2 at 7:00pm. The event will be free to all who are able to participate. The virtual fundraiser will include a brief program, testimonials from hat and mitten collectors, recipients, and volunteers, live and silent auction, and surprises! A link to join and register for the event will be provided soon.
All funds raised at our virtual fundraiser on December 2 will be used to purchase hats and mittens for children and youth in the seven-county metro area of the Twin Cities. Our goal is to raise funds to purchase 25,000 hat and mitten sets to fill the order requests we typically fill in a winter season. We know the need will be even greater this year because of financial pressures on families and we know that many of our collecting partners (schools, offices, churches) may or may not be back to “normal” quite yet.
